Indian River
A community hub
Taking its name from the river at the end of Indian Arm, this area is one of the more recent housing developments in the area. Areas of natural forest were preserved, and a new school, Dorothy Lynas Elementary was built. More retail and services were available when the Parkgate Shopping Centre was built. A new community hub for the entire East of Seymour was created when the District of North Vancouver built the community centre and library at Parkgate. Indian River Road, the first access to Woodlands, is found off Mount Seymour Road and remains as the only road access to some of the communities of Indian Arm.
