Students in our community
Deep Cove Heritage Society believes that elementary and secondary students are both our young historians in training and our future history makers.
The Society has in the past provided slide shows to teachers and presented for the youngest students in our community. We have worked with our Seycove Secondary students, on projects that use their technology skills and learning. We have had a marketing advertisement produced for us by a Grade 8 class, that featured in our newsletter.
Student lead interviews with elders in our community, through Zoom calls, was a Covid project when meeting in person was not possible.
Audio and visual updated productions of our original walking brochure was another project that used their technical skill development.
Deep Cove Heritage Society welcomes and supports our student work experience volunteers who have taken on tasks in our office and impressed us with their attention to our projects.
In turn, the Society has offered scholarships to graduating seniors and are happy to support them as they move out into the world.
