Windsor Park subdivision was developed by the District of North Vancouver in the 1960’s to preserve the natural landscape with the housing needed in the area. New schools were also built to accommodate the growing needs of the families that came to live in the area. Plymouth Elementary opened in 1969 for the younger students and Windsor Secondary opened in 1961 for the students in Grades 8 through 12. Windsor was the only secondary school east of the Seymour River, at that time.
The Society acknowledges that the land of the Seymour Communities is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We continue to learn and celebrate the culture, history, stories, and people of the Tsleil-Waututh.
