In 1953, the development of Blueridge began with a single road, pushing up the hill from Keith Road. By 1971, the community had expanded west and north with streets and homes for more families. Blueridge Elementary was built in 1968 for the children and the community grew, including the Blueridge Community Association, helping to maintain the livability of Blueridge with the surrounding natural forest.
The Society acknowledges that the land of the Seymour Communities is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We continue to learn and celebrate the culture, history, stories, and people of the Tsleil-Waututh.
